So You Want to Earn a Living as an Affiliate?

If you do not know what an affiliate is, take a quick look here first it will give you a quick rundown on the benefits and downsides of being an affiliate. OK now lets see how we can use these programs to make money.

Many programs can benefit you in 2 ways, firstly you get a product to sell without the hassle of actually dealing with it. Go for programs that pay a good percentage, on books and items of lower value say $10 - $50 you should look to get 50% or more, after all you do have to do some work in promoting these offers. However higher value items may not always offer such a high commission, but if it is a product or service that sells for say $200 and they give you 20% for a sale - you still get $40. so not to bad...

The second way they can benefit is selling the program on to others, i.e. sub-affiliates or a downline. They then sell the products, you get a much smaller percentage commission but hey, someone else is doing the work, and you get paid. The best solution is to mix both, you promote the products and then sell the idea of your buyer making money by them joining the program. That way you will get better commission checks!

So what programs to go for? Well I have listed a number of the better ones, that are a) sound, b) likely to earn you money, c) not just MLM, i.e. there is a point to them, they provide a service or product that can be used. (It's not that I'm against MLM, but I wouldn't recommend it as a living, nevertheless they can be fun - so I have included one!)
